Juan "Jay" Mallari
President and Founder
Dr. Mallari is the Founder and Principal of JJM Medical Services. As President, he oversees all aspects of business operations and continues to be heavily involved in clinical care. Dr. Mallari specializes in teaching colleagues his tried and tested method of delivering successful intraconal akinetic ophthalmic blocks.
The son of J.P. Mallari, MD, a family doctor from Rhode Island, Dr. Mallari understands that bedside manner is essential to the physician-patient relationship. Dr. Mallari recieved his undergraduate degree from Assumption College. For his first two years of medical school, he returned to his father's homeland to attend Saint Louis University, Philippines. Following his time in the Philippines, Dr. Mallari completed 3 years of clinical rotations at Brown University, followed by 2 years of Columbia General Surgery residency, and 3 years of Tufts Anesthesia training in Boston.
For years, Dr. Mallari worked in Boston teaching hospitals before turning his primary focus to ophthalmic blocks in 2004. Since then, he has performed tens of thousands of ocular blocks with an impeccable safety record.
Dr. Mallari is active in the Ophthalmic Anesthesia Society (OAS) and American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators (ASOA)
Stephan Hatch, M.D.
Clinical Director
As Clinical Director, Dr. Hatch is in charge of all staff issues at JJM Medical Services. He is responsible for the QA/PI program, peer review and credentialing of all providers. He plays an instrumental role in new business development and enjoys developing positive working relationships with our centers and providers. As a leader at JJM Medical Services, he believes in creating a positive work environment where the entire team is treated with respect and contributes to the centers' goals. The results quickly become apparent as better clinical outcomes and better financial results for our centers.
Dr. Hatch attended Colby College for his undergraduate education followed by the University of Vermont for medical school. He completed his anesthesia residency at Columbia University and is boarded by the American Board of Anesthesiology. His expertise in multispecialty outpatient anesthesia (and a focus on orthopedics) and participation in building these programs has proven an asset for the addition of extraophthalmic practice. He is instumental in the success of JJM Medical Services.
He is a member of the Ophthalmic Anesthesia Society (OAS) and American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators(ASOA).
